Coaching Criteria
Applicants for the below positions should read and
understand the following positional requirements
before submitting an application.
NTL & Regional Job Descriptions:
COACH
(Must be a level 2 or greater except junior divisions)
1. Follow the coaches' code of conduct as set by NSWTA
and ATA.
2. Must be able to demonstrate the necessary
experience at elite coaching levels with no less than
3 years experience at affiliate representative level.
3. Successful applicant will be appointed for a 2-year
term with a 1-year review period and is subject to
review by the Sydney Scorpions executive committee.
4. Must have the ability to work in conjunction with
an assistant coach and manager as appointed by the
regional executive in consultation with appointed
coach.
5. Demonstrate an ability to work within a selection
team to choose final teams. This includes obtaining a
minimum level 2 selectors certificate during your
appointment.
6. Conduct regular player identification during
tournaments with a view to final selections. This will
include filing of player reports with the Sydney
Scorpions Coaching and Selectors directors.
7. Will be required to attend regional coaching
meetings (approx 3 per year) to develop coaches
throughout the Sydney Scorpions region.
8. Coaches will also be required to assist in regional
development at both junior and senior levels through
delivery of courses and conduct of development camps
ASSISTANT
COACH
(Must be a level 1 or greater)
1. Follows the coach's code of conduct as set by NSWTA
and ATA.
2. Successful applicant will be appointed for a 2-year
term with a 1-year review period and is subject to
review by the Sydney Scorpions executive committee.
3. Demonstrate experience at affiliate representative
level for a minimum of 2 years.
4. Demonstrate an ability to work in conjunction with
a head coach and be a part of a coaching partnership.
5. Assists head coach to fulfil their job description.
6. Reports to Coaching Director on player development
and team performance when requested.
7. Will be required to attend regional coaching
meetings (approx 3 per year) to develop coaches
throughout the Sydney Scorpions region.
8. Assistant Coaches will also be required to assist
in regional development at both junior and senior
levels through delivery of courses and conduct of
development camps.
MANAGER
1. Follow the coaches' code of conduct as set by NSWTA
and ATA.
2. Successful applicant will be appointed for a 2-year
term with a 1-year review period and is subject to
review by the Sydney Scorpions executive committee.
3. Will be required to attend training sessions and
games to provide assistance to coaches and players in
the conduct and support of these sessions.
4. Submit reports to the Regional Director of
Coaching, regarding aspects of team performance, when
requested.
5. Co-ordinate and collect all financial dues from
teams on behalf of regional Finance Director.
